Styling your kitchen for the season

Palazzo | Styling your kitchen for the season | Christmas blog

Yes, it’s that time of year again! The holidays are right around the corner, and the Palazzo team are getting into the festive spirit. We’ve curated some of our favourite seasonal styles for a cosy Christmas in the kitchen. Of course, a warm and inviting kitchen isn’t just for Christmas—but it may well be the time of year when you appreciate it the most…

Scents for the season

Cinnamon, clementine, clove, pine, nutmeg, the list goes on! These spicy, seasonal scents are wonderfully evocative of Christmas-time, and incorporating them into your kitchen will also mask any unwanted cooking smells.

Decorative diffusers and pretty potpourri are festive options for this time of year—or, best of all, fill your kitchen with scented tea lights and pillar candles in hurricane vases, and dine by candlelight.

Bring the outside in

When it’s too cold to be outdoors, you can always bring the outside in! Hang wreaths on your kitchen windows, adorn place settings with spruce and holly, drape pine and eucalyptus garlands across the kitchen island, and even add a miniature Christmas tree to your dining table as a cheerful centrepiece.

These all-natural accessories will not only look amazing, but will purify the air too—creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere for cooking in the kitchen.

Playful decor

If you do go for a tiny tree in the kitchen, why not add a bit of character with some whimsical decorations? It is Christmas, after all! Alessi have a range of cubic, hand-decorated blown glass ornaments, in their signature quirky style—with a reindeer, a snowman, a Christmas tree and, of course, Santa Claus. It’s a fun and festive collection, guaranteed to make you smile.

Treat yourself

For the ultimate indulgence, treat yourself to a new appliance this Christmas. A Miele wine conditioning unit will be a much-loved addition to your kitchen, and is sure to get a lot of use at this time of year.

The Miele range offers free-standing units and, if you’re looking for a more sleek and subtle appearance, built-under cabinets too. They have adjustable interior frames, for accommodating bottles of all sizes—and some models even have multiple temperature zones, allowing for simultaneous storage of red, white, and festive fizz.

To top it off, all models boast UV-treated tinted glass doors, Active AirClean filters, humidity control, and internal LED lighting—creating the perfect climate for storing and showcasing your wine collection over the long term…if it lasts that long!

Cheers, from all of us at Team Palazzo!
