With exceptional materials, hand-painted furniture, and a grand free-flowing layout—Karen & David’s impressive new kitchen showcases our Handcrafted range at its finest.
The clients chose Handcrafted by Palazzo as the classic design dovetailed with the style of their property; and the handmade, hardwood furniture would stand the test of time.
Our Handcrafted kitchens are made from only the finest materials. The Victorian Inset style doors are made from Poplar wood, the drawers are Solid Walnut dovetail, and the show carcases—seen inside the glass units and open shelf units—are finished in Walnut Veneer.
The surface of the dining table, and the drop-down worktop at the end of the island, are also Solid Walnut; beautifully crafted to the bespoke shape and sized needed. These pieces make the most of the floor space, framing either side of the kitchen island and creating a dramatic L-shaped centre piece at the heart of the room.
The units were hand-painted on site in two stunning Farrow & Ball shades. The upper and lower wall units are Ammonite, a naturally understated pale grey; while the island and base of the dining table are accented in Mole’s Breath, a deeper and moodier grey.
The furniture is finished off with cornice detailing along the top of the units, torus skirting detailing along the base, and tongue and groove style end panels. The unit doors and drawers feature knob and cup handles from Crofts & Assinder’s ‘Calgary’ range, in Polished Nickel.
In addition to the kitchen furniture, we also created the furniture for the TV area—ensuring the interior design throughout the whole open-plan area was cohesive.
The polished Silestone worktops are Desert Silver; a soft grey hue with a very subtle vein through it, which is a modern take on the traditional marble worktop. We used the same material for the splashback behind the AGA cooker, framed either side by Smoked Grey Mirror to add depth of colour and reflect light back into the room.
Above the AGA, the canopy mantel houses a Westin integrated extractor hood. We also installed a Bora Classic hob and extraction system on the island, which features a full-surface induction hob and teppanyaki hob.
We designed and crafted a completely bespoke unit to house the Miele combination-microwave oven and coffee machine, with a mix of shallow and deep drawers below. Next to this is the tall unit containing the Miele Master-Cool fridge-freezer—an impressive appliance with humidity-controlled MasterCool drawers, allowing different foods to be stored in individual micro-climates.
The Shaws Shaker Belfast double sink is fitted with an Insinkerator waste disposal and features a Quooker Flex tap with a Polished Chrome finish. Either side, there are two Miele integrated dishwashers, and the back of the island has a Miele built-under wine conditioning unit for day-to-day drinks refrigeration.
The clients’ wine collection, however, lives in the wine room. During the design process, the client had fallen in love with the idea of creating a wine room—something our Handcrafted range can bring to life effortlessly. It’s the perfect finishing touch for enhancing the grandeur of the space.
