With our Handcrafted range, we created Douglas & Patricia’s ideal family kitchen – showcasing exceptional materials and soft subtle hues.
Having previously been a kitchen designer herself, Patricia has an excellent eye for detail. She had a clear vision of what she wanted, but she was also happy to have our input on layout and design options. It was a pleasure to collaborate with her on the project.
The Victorian Inset style doors are made from poplar wood, with walnut interiors and solid dovetailed drawers. The doors are hand-painted in ‘All White’ by Farrow & Ball, and the Sensa Granite worktops by Cosentino are a striking ‘Ice Blue’ shade in a polished finish. The same material was also used for the splashback.
The worktops on the island have an Ogee-Bullnose edge detail, which helps to define the central furniture and drop-down dining table as the focal point of the room. By incorporating a Miele downdraft extractor hob into the island, we were able to keep the space above looking sleek, with no need for a ceiling hood. The other cooking appliances sit directly behind the island, with ample worktop space for preparation.
The kitchen’s appliances include: Gaggenau ovens with a warming drawer; an integrated dishwasher; a tall integrated fridge by Liebherr; and an under-counter freezer by Siemens.
The white Blanco ‘Subline’ undermount sink has a Silgranit finish and hosts the Quooker Flex Tap in Polished Chrome. This finish complements the Polished Chrome cup and knob handles by Crofts & Assinder, which adorn the fronts of the units.
The kitchen also offers considerable storage space. Beside the oven, the bi-fold dresser unit is easily-accessible and houses the client’s coffee machine. The large pantry at the end of the room provides extra day-to-day storage, with internal drawers and spice racks. We also incorporated tall larders beside the window, as well as drawer units which double as a casual seating area.
As with all our kitchens, and especially our Handcrafted kitchens, every design detail has been thoroughly considered; the end result being a perfectly-balanced space for cooking and entertaining.
