Steven & Lorraine’s sleek new kitchen is the striking centrepiece of their home.
Built using the handleless Pronorm Y-line range, their chosen colours are Gloss Lacquer Superwhite and Matt Havana Black. Finishing off the bold monochrome palette, the worktops are Silestone ‘Negro Stellar’ Polished and the splashbacks are Smoked Grey Mirror.
We built a frame detail surrounding the tall units, which house the fridge, freezer, and ovens. Either side, we incorporated tall black larder units; a stylish storage solution which adds a unique design element to this area – instead of having a straight run of units in the same finish.
We added integrated rails to the walls on either side of the window, which have metal shelves attached for displaying decorative items and providing easy access to everyday items, like spice jars. This is a nice alternative to standard wall units for this space, as the thin shelves don’t block the light from the window.
Similarly, the slimline lift-up wall units on the back wall offer extra storage, but without overcrowding the space.
The main u-shaped area of the kitchen offers a practical cooking space – with the hob facing onto the breakfast bar and dining area, so the cook can still interact with guests while entertaining.
At its centre, the Blanco Subline undermount sink is Anthracite with a Silgranit finish – looking seamless on the worktops, with a matching Blanco Max twin-lever swan-neck tap in a Brushed Steel finish.
The kitchen’s modern appliances also contribute to the sleek aesthetic of the kitchen. These include: a Siemens induction hob; two Siemens StudioLine single ovens (one has microwave function, the other has steam); a Siemens glass canopy extractor hood; a tall integrated larder fridge and freezer by Liebherr; a Miele integrated dishwasher; and a Siemans integrated washer/dryer.
