More often than not, your kitchen becomes the hub of your home; a place to not only cook, but to entertain and socialise. That’s certainly the case with the sleek and contemporary design of Mike’s new kitchen.
The client chose to have all the furniture in one colour: a dark and striking Matt Onyx Grey from the Pronorm Y-line range. To add definition and contrast to the space, we also added Elm Woodgrain accents – in the base of the table, and in the panels which frame the tall units on the back wall.
To complete the look, the client chose a vibrant shade of lemon for the accessories and furnishings, which adds a stunning a pop of colour.
By adjoining the island with the kitchen table, we created a sociable space where the cook can be part of the party! The worktops are an ‘Aluminio Nube’ shade of Silestone: a soft grey colour with a slight grain and mirror fleck scattered through it. The table top is made from the same material, with a drinks trough added in the centre.
To maintain the open feel of the room, we incorporated a Siemens induction hob with a flush-mounted ceiling extractor – which is built into a feature ceiling box with perimeter lighting.
Other appliances include: a Miele integrated dishwasher, two Siemens Studioline single ovens (sitting either side of the client’s own American-style fridge/freezer), and a Caple wine cooler – with a black glass door to complement the grey units.
The Blanco ‘Subline’ undermount sink has an ‘Alumetallic’ Silgranit finish and blends almost seamlessly into the worktop. This look is enhanced by the ultra-slim, minimalist-style Blanco ‘Sole’ tap, with its sleek single lever and classic chrome finish. The sink is also fitted with an InSinkErator waste disposal system, for maximum convenience.
Lastly, we used Smoked Grey Mirror underneath the upper units on the back wall, to bounce light back into the room and make the kitchen feel even more spacious.
