Sleek Handleless Design
Our most recent project has been working with Gavin & Stacey to create this stunning open plan kitchen. The furniture is from our increasingly popular Pronorm Y-line handleless range and the slate grey door fronts are in a lacquered laminate finish which work perfectly with the Elm feature panels.
The striking dark coloured furniture is quite unique and works really well in the space, helped by lots of natural light from the large sliding doors and skylight. It also ties in well with the customer’s existing floor, and the Elm complements the other wood throughout the open-plan downstairs of the house. The island has been finished with chrome mirrored plinth and LED strip lights which really highlight the centrepiece of the room.
The worktop is by Silestone; the world’s leading producer of quartz surfaces who have designed the most stain resistant and scratch resistance surface available on the market. We chose 12mm thickness to continue the sleek look of the handleless furniture. To create the breakfast bar worktop we used 50mm laminate material in the Elm colour which goes into the island and creates a open shelf unit for storage and display. The Elm material was also used to break up the run of wall units to create some open niche boxes for displaying items and adding some personal touches to the kitchen.
This kitchen has been kitted out with the best appliances available. The majority are by Siemens and include the induction hob, single oven, compact oven & warming drawer, tall fridge and dishwasher. The freezer with built-in icemaker is by Liebherr and the wine cooler is by Caple. It has been a pleasure working with Gavin and Stacey on this design and installation project and we are confident that this kitchen will still look great for years to come.
